Create and edit blogs
INFO
To use this part of the system, you need to have the Content owenr permission to create and delete posts and blogs, or the Content editor permission to edit existing posts and blogs. For more information, read how to manage access policies.
The Contents app allows you to create blogs and posts that will be displayed on your organization's websites, as well as manage all content, its SEO settings and images
Libraries (or blogs) are containers of content pages, like document folders. For example, the Blog is a library that contains content, i.e. blog posts.
Libraries list
The libraries list contains a list of all the blogs you have created. Blogs are sorted from newest to oldest.
From the list, you can view:
- the library name, i.e. the name for internal use
- the library title, i.e. the title displayed on websites and visible to site users and search engines
Clicking on a row in the table accesses the library details with the list of contents.
Clicking the New library button accesses the screen for adding a new library.
Creating a new library
The library creation form has the following fields:
- the name, i.e. the name for internal use only,
- the title, i.e. the title that the blog will have externally, visible to users and search engines,
- the slug, i.e. the web address identifying the blog (see the explanation box below) - by default, the slug is automatically filled in based on the title entered,
- the description,
- the language,
- the additional data - by clicking the +add button you can add a key-value in which to record other information about the library (for example, reference editor - Giulia Bianchi)
By clicking the Save button the library is created.
By clicking the Cancel button the changes are canceled and you return to the list of tasks.
Contents list
The detail page of a library contains the following information:
- the Contents page contains the list of contents,
- the Settings page allows you to edit the library information
Library settings
Inside the library settings page, you can configure:
- The name
- the title
- the description
- the language
- the additional data - by clicking the +add button, you can add a key-value in which to record other information about the library (for example, reference editor - Giulia Bianchi)
Inside the Advanced options section, you can find the panel to edit the slug of the blog. By clicking the Edit slug button, the changes are applied.
By clicking the Save button, the library is created.
By clicking the Cancel button, the changes are canceled and you return to the list of tasks.
Data to be modified with caution
If the contents of the library have already been published online, carefully modify its slug. Changing the slug will make the old address visible on Google pages for a while, but it will lead to a broken and non-functional version of the online page of the content. A non-functional internet address risks damaging the positioning on search engines, so proceed with caution.
