Creating and editing blogs

INFO

To use this part of the system you need Content owner permission to create and delete posts and blogs, or Content editor permission to edit existing posts and blogs. For more information, read how to manage access policies.

The Content app allows you to create blogs and posts that will be displayed on your organisation's websites, as well as manage all content, their SEO configurations and images

Libraries (or blogs) are containers of content pages, like document folders. For example, the Blog is a library containing content, i.e. blog posts.

List of libraries

The library list contains a list of all created blogs. The blogs are ordered most recent to oldest.

From the list, you can view:

  • the library name, i.e. the name for internal use
  • the library title, i.e. the title displayed on the websites and visible to website users and search engines

Clicking on a row in the table takes you to the details of the library with the list of contents.

Clicking on the New Library button takes you to the screen for adding a new library.

Creating a new library

The library creation form has the following fields:

  • the name i.e. the name for internal use only,
  • the title i.e. the title that the blog will have externally, visible to users and search engines,
  • the slug i.e. the web address identifying the blog (see explanation box below) - by default, the slug is automatically filled in based on the title entered,
  • the description,
  • the language,
  • the additional data - by clicking the +add button it is possible to add key-value in which to record other information about the library (e.g. reference editor - Giulia Bianchi)

Clicking the Save button creates the library.

Clicking the Cancel button cancels the changes and returns you to the task list.

Content List

The detail page of a library contains the following information:

  • the Contents page contains the list of contents,
  • on the Settings page you can edit the library information

Library Settings

Within the library settings page, you can configure:

  • The name
  • the title
  • the description
  • the language
  • the additional data - by clicking the +add button you can add key-value in which to record other information about the library (e.g. reference editor - Giulia Bianchi)

Within the advanced options section is the panel for modifying the slug of the blog. By clicking the Edit slug button, the changes are applied.

Clicking the Save button creates the library.

Clicking the Cancel button cancels the changes and returns you to the task list.

:: warning Data to be edited with caution

If the library content has already been published online, change its slug carefully. Changing the slug will keep the old address visible on Google pages for a while, but will lead to a broken, non-functioning version of the content's online page. A non-functional web address risks damaging your search engine rankings, so proceed with caution.
