Create and edit content

To use this part of the system, you need to have the Content owenr permission to create and delete posts and blogs, or the Content editor permission to edit existing posts and blogs. For more information, read how to manage access policies.
The Contents app allows you to create blogs and posts that will be displayed on the organization's websites, as well as manage all content, its SEO configurations and images
The content list
The content list contains all the posts published within the blog sorted in a table from the most recent to the least recent.
The tables of contents preview the following data:
- Content name, which is the name for internal use
- Content title, which is the title displayed on websites and visible to site users and search engines
- Publishing date in DD/MM/YYYY format, for example 21/12/2021,
Clicking the New content button takes you to the content writing screen.
Clicking on a row in the table takes you to the content editor.
The detail page of a content contains the following information:
- on the Content page:
- the content details
- the text editor
- on the SEO and socials page:
- the SEO data settings of the post
- if the post has already been created, the Advanced options section where you can find:
- the panel for editing the slug
- the panel for deleting the content
- on the Additional data page:
- the panel for adding key-value fields in which to record other information about the post (for example, topic - fundraising)
Writing editor
The Content page contains the following fields
- Publishing date in DD/MM/YYYY format, for example 21/12/2021
- Content name, which is the name for internal use
- Content title, which is the title displayed on websites and visible to users of the sites and search engines
- if in first creation, the slug field is also visible, that is, the web address identifying the content (see the explanation box above) - by default, the slug is automatically filled in based on the title entered
- the box with the text editor where you can write the content and insert the images
By clicking the Publish button, the content is saved and published online.
By clicking the Cancel button, the content is not saved, the changes are canceled and you return to the list of blog contents.
Insert a header in the body of the text
To insert a header within the body of the text of a content, you can use the formatting bar located at the top of the editor.
By clicking Type... > Heading, a drop-down menu will open where you can select the type of title - from Level 1 to Level 6.
Undo formatting done in the text editor
To undo formatting done inside the text editor, just use the Undo button represented by a backwards pointing arrow.
:::note This operation will undo all formatting done to the text. :::
Insert a link in a content
To insert a link inside the text of a content, just follow these steps:
- Select the text that you want to make clickable;
- In the formatting bar, click the chain-shaped icon;
- In the panel that appears, insert the link inside the link target field and press enter. If the title field is filled in, a label will also appear when the user's cursor passes over the text.
Edit a link
To edit a link within the text editor, simply follow these steps:
- Select the link you want to edit;
- In the formatting bar, click double the chain icon;
- Edit the information within the pop-up and press enter.
SEO and Socials
The SEO and socials page contains the following fields and panels:
- the description, used together with the title by both Google and socials to display previews of the content and better understand what it is about,
- the language,
- the SEO and Socials image, also used together with the title and description by both Google and socials to display previews of the content.
When no image has been uploaded, the Upload image button is located below the field. By clicking it, you can access the file management panel to add already uploaded images or upload new ones from your computer.
If you are editing the post, the section Advanced options is also available where you can find:
- the panel for editing the slug. Clicking the button Edit slug applies the changes to the slug.
- the panel for deleting content. Clicking the button Delete content deletes the post from the blog and is no longer accessible from the outside.
Always delete with great caution
As with changing the slug, if a post has been indexed by search engines or shared as a link on social media, deleting it will make the link blank and non-functional and could damage your search engine or social positioning strategy.
Additional data
The Additional data page contains the panel to add key-value fields to record additional information about the post (for example, topic - fundraising).
Clicking the +Add button creates a row with two fields to enter:
- the key on the right, for example topic,
- the value of the key on the left, for example fundraising
Clicking the Remove button deletes the row.
