Frequently asked questions for Workforce

What is the Workforce app?

The Workforce app (also called Humans) is where administrators manage human resources, work hours contracts, workplaces, absence types, and allocation views. It is an admin-only application.

Who can access the Workforce app?

Only users with administrator privileges can access the Workforce app. Regular collaborators do not see it in their app list.

What is a work hours contract?

A work hours contract defines the expected working days and daily hours for a human resource. It is what allows RevasOS to calculate hour balances, expected vs. actual hours, and absence tracking.

Without a work hours contract, a collaborator can still log time entries, but reports and balances will not be available.

Can a resource have multiple work hours contracts?

Yes. You can assign different work hours contracts to the same resource over time. This allows you to keep historical records when a resource's contract changes β€” for example, when they go from full-time to part-time.

The system will not recalculate past allocations based on a new contract.

What are allocations?

Allocations show how a resource's working time is distributed across projects and tasks. You can view them at the resource level or at the project level.

Allocations depend on work hours contracts being set up. Without a contract, allocation views have no expected hours to compare against.

Do I need to set up Workforce before using Timesheets?

Not strictly, but it is recommended. Timesheets can record time entries without Workforce configuration, but features like hour balances, expected hours, and absence tracking depend on work hours contracts being set up in the Workforce app.

Where do I configure workplaces and absence types?

Workplaces and absence types are configured in the Workforce app and are available organization-wide. Once created, they appear in Timesheets and Timecards for all collaborators.
