πŸ’» Create the web project

Once you have understood the needs and developed a project that the client has confirmed, you can start creating it and bring it to light on RevasOS.

Thanks to its powerful tools, with RevasOS you can create different types of websites with different styles and behaviors.

Steps

Create the web project

RevasOS allows you to manage multiple "web projects". A web project is a container that can be connected to one or more domains and can contain different types of web elements, such as layouts and pages, blogs or a shop.

Create and connect resources

Once you have created your website, you can create and connect resources, which can be of two types:

  • pages and layouts (localized with a language of your choice)
  • one or more blogs.

πŸ’‘ Helpful tip

Web projects, pages and layouts and blogs are different entities even if they may all seem like different types of "websites". To better understand this structure, read the distinction between pages and layouts and blogs

Configure the layout

The layout of a website is composed of the main and secondary navigation and marketing elements such as the main action, the notification and the highlighted section. Each template manages their positioning differently.

πŸ’‘ Helpful tip

RevasOS uses an innovative approach to structuring the basic elements of a website that guarantee intuitive management regardless of the graphic implementation. To better understand it, read the Navigation Model Guide

πŸ“– Add socials

You can also display the "authors" of a website. An author is an object with which you can quickly display a logo with a title and a list of links, for example in the footer.

Create and configure web pages

Once you have set up the layout, you can create pages. Pages allow you to manage sections and content but also to edit the SEO information used by search engines and when sharing pages on social media.

πŸ“– Add a page

πŸ’‘ Helpful tip

RevasOS has three different types of blocks that allow for great flexibility in creating different types of pages. To better understand them, read the guide on block types

Add articles to the blog

A blog allows you to create a publication with numerous posts. You can use blogs to do content strategy or tell events and projects. You can connect as many blogs as you want to a web project, even with the same language.

πŸ“– Edit a post

Within a page you can link a dynamic preview of a blog so you can show the last three published articles in a section, without having to update the section manually.

Add translations in other languages

Pages and layouts always have their own language for localization. You cannot have two pages and layouts with the same language. When you need to add a version in another language, you can create and link to a new page structure and layout with a different language than the ones already present.

πŸ’‘ Helpful tip

Each translation on RevasOS is an autonomous and self-contained structure: thanks to this subdivision, you can create pages and contents that change from one language to another, both in texts and images. For example, you can create sections only for your English users or insert images with text in the translated language if the graphics include text.

Add the domain

Once you have created all the elements, you can connect the domain so that all the published pages and contents go online at the client's web address.

πŸ’‘ Helpful tip

Even before connecting the domain, you can show the client the changes using the preview link. The preview link lasts 30 days and always shows all the draft and unpublished content.

RevasOS allows you to add the domain to the organization's domain list and connect it to the completed web project.

πŸ’‘ Helpful tip

A domain is the most important part of a website as it uniquely represents its online identity. Make sure you understand all best practices for web domain security

If your customer has not purchased a domain, you can support them in choosing a provider and configuring it:

  • make sure the customer has ownership of the account and the domain is registered in their name,
  • make sure you request temporary access (unless you are managing the account)

Once you have access to the domain, you can proceed with configuring and adding the domain on RevasOS.
