Add domain to a website
RevasOS lets you connect domains to websites created in the Websites app, automatically managing all redirects.
Before proceeding, make sure you understand these concepts:
Also make sure you have read the best security practices for managing a web domain.
Connect domain to Revas
- Go to the Websites app: https://themes.eu1.revas.app.
- From the list of websites, choose the one you want to add the domain to. If you don't have a domain connected yet, you'll see a yellow button that says
Connect a domain
. Click the button. - On the page that opens, enter the domain name with its extension (e.g.: sitoweb.com) in the top bar and press
Add
. - The domain will appear below in its own tab. In the tab you will find the status and configuration methods of the domain:
- Verification: we need verification to make sure you are the legitimate owner of the domain.
- Configuration: the configuration adds the information that the domain will use to connect to RevasOS and display the template you have chosen
- The configuration information is DNS records that you must manually add to your domain using the service you manage it with. If you don't take care of it, you can copy the proposed configurations and send them to the collaborator who configures and manages the domain. Here you can also find a guide on DNS records.
- When you have completed the DNS configurations, go back to RevasOS in the domain list and press the "Verify" button on the domain you have configured. If the configurations are all correct, the checkmarks will turn green and when you visit the domain you will see the website created with RevasOS.
Changes to DNS records can be immediate or take some time to propagate everywhere. The speed of propagation of changes depends on various factors and the type of provider chosen.
