How-to create a new project
With this guide you will learn how to quickly create a new project.
Before you start
In order to be able to follow this quickstart guide you need to have an organization in RevasOS and be a contributor with the necessary project creation permissions. You can find more infos in the roles and permissions section.
Project fields
When creating a project, you will be asked to fill in the following fields:

| Title | Yes | The name of the project. It will appear in the dashboard and in all project-related views. |
| Start date | Yes | The date when the project is expected to begin. Used in reports and timeline views. |
| End date | Yes | The expected completion date of the project. Used in reports and timeline views. |
| Status | Yes | The current state of the project. Available values: Backlog, To do, Doing, Done, Archived, Stopped. |
| Customer | No | An optional contact from your contacts list to associate as the project commissioner. |
| Description | No | An optional free-text description to provide context about the project. |
Create a project
Tip
To be able to create a project you will need the Projects app, if you haven't already please install it from the RevasOS Store.
- Open the Projects app from the RevasOS environment;
- Click on the + New project button;
- Enter the Title of the project;
- Select a Status from the drop-down menu;
- Insert the Start date and End date for the project;
- Optionally, add a Description and assign a Customer from your contacts list;
- Click on Create project.
What's next
Once the project is created, structure it by adding milestones and tasks:
- Create a milestone — group tasks into phases or goals.
- Create a new task — add work items and assign them to collaborators.
