Record an absence

Recording an absence in RevasOS takes less than 20 seconds. This quick start shows the minimal steps to log leave — whether it is vacation, sick leave, or any other absence type configured by your organisation.

Before you start:

Absence types must already be configured in the Timesheets settings by a super admin. If no absence types appear when you try to log an absence, ask your admin to set them up first. See Absence types, holidays, and billable flag for details.

Log an absence from desktop

  1. Open the Timesheets app in your RevasOS environment.
  2. Navigate to the day you need to record the absence for.
  3. Click Add absence.
  4. Fill in:
    • Absence type — Select the type (e.g. vacation, sick leave, personal day).
    • Start time and End time — The time range for the absence.
  5. Click Save.

The entry appears in your timesheet like any other time entry, but it is tagged with the selected absence type.

Log an absence from mobile

  1. Open the Timesheets app from your home screen or browser.
  2. Navigate to the correct day.
  3. Tap the + button and select New time entry.
  4. In the entry form, select Absence as the entry mode.
  5. Choose the absence type from the list.
  6. Set the start and end time.
  7. Tap Save.

How absences work in RevasOS

In the current version of RevasOS, absences are recorded as already approved. There is no separate request-and-approval workflow — once you save an absence, it is immediately visible in reports and balances.

The admin or manager can:

  • Edit the absence if something needs to change.
  • Delete the absence if it was entered by mistake.
  • Lock the absence to prevent further modifications.

Note:

Because absences are saved as approved, coordinate with your manager or admin before recording leave so everyone is aligned.
